Nancy Miller, Licensed Mental Health Counselor
After many years of working in the social services I made the decision in 2015 to create a private practice focused solely on young children and their families. Choosing to narrow my focus on this dynamic and amazing age group of children is one of the best decisions I have made both personally and professionally. Doing so has afforded me the time and energy needed to develop more creative and effective ways to equip parents to reach their goals to have deeper connections with their children and equip their children with essential life skills. I believe that parents are a child’s first and most influential teachers and motivators in the development of healthy habits. Thankfully being a “Perfect” parent is not required (and really does not even exist). All that is needed is a willingness and desire to learn and grow right alongside your child.
Now for those interested- here is the boring resume stuff:
For the past 18 years, I have worked in a variety of private and social services settings offering counseling, behavioral consultations, parent coaching, mentoring, career counseling, crisis stabilization, preschool teacher training, parenting skills workshops/classes, foster/adoption parents training, and mental health case management. I have an MA in Clinical Counseling from Columbia International University and am licensed in the State of Florida. Although I am now in private practice I have remained connected to the needs of our children within the social services programs, including foster and adoptive children, through private contract work with Adoption Related Services of Pinellas and Family Enrichment Services. I am a native Floridian, love the summer, relaxing at the beach, buying more books than I could ever possibly have time to read, and being active in my community and church. Thanks for taking the time to visit my website and for considering me to help with you and your child’s needs.
